EAIP accredits training in integrative psychotherapy, conversion programmes, training of supervisors and training of trainers.
Accreditation of training in integrative psychotherapy
Training in integrative psychotherapy is automatically accredited when an institute is granted full membership. If a full member runs trainings in more areas belonging to the integrative psychotherapy modality (ie. Integrative psychotherapy, integrative child and adolescent psychotherapy, integrative expressive psychotherapy, etc), the training institute will need to accredit each of these courses / trainings separately, according to the criteria already described in the Full membership (training institutes) section of this document.
Accreditation of training of supervisors
Supervision is understood as a process conducted within a formal working relationship in which a qualified or trainee Psychotherapeutic Practitioner presents client work or professional practice issues to a designated supervisor, as an on-going process of developing effective practice. The purpose is to ensure safe and competent practice and continuous professional learning and development through regular meetings. Experienced Psychotherapeutic Practitioners many choose to use peer supervision to meet this purpose.
Accreditation of training of trainers
The “Training for Trainers” accreditation guidelines have been developed to address the growing need for well-qualified trainers in integrative psychotherapy. These guidelines are designed to elevate the quality and effectiveness of both psychotherapeutic education and clinical practice. By providing a structured approach for training future trainers, the program aims to equip professionals with the skills and knowledge required to teach integrative psychotherapy effectively.
Through this initiative, the field of integrative psychotherapy gains a higher standard of professional training, ensuring that educators are not only skilled practitioners but also proficient mentors and facilitators. In turn, this advancement fosters a more competent and cohesive psychotherapeutic community, ultimately benefiting clients by promoting best practices and upholding ethical standards across the discipline.
Accreditation of conversion programs
Conversion programs are designed for individuals already specialised in a psychotherapeutic modality, other than integrative psychotherapy, who wish to also specialize in integrative psychotherapy.
